Idiots on the streets of Philadelphia

Technorati Tags: , , ,

Everywhere I go, I experience terrible drivers on the streets of Philadelphia. When a red light changes, it is expected that three cars run it. I’m complaining about people who are so stupid, they shouldn’t be allowed their driver’s license. I have two great examples which happened in the past day, from my jaunts around town.

I was driving behind this crazy Puerto Rican bitch who was swerving so badly that I thought she was drunk. It was a single lane, so I stayed back since it was apparent she was going to hit a sign or a car. It was rush hour traffic on the way home, and all I could see in the back seat were the heads of two kids with afro puffs. Finally, the single lane switched to double lanes and I zipped past her to get the hell away. As I passed by, I looked over and realized she wasn’t drunk but just stupid. She was talking on a cell phone in one hand and a lollipop in her mouth. I couldn’t believe it, and then she looked over at me with her mouth half open. She looked exactly like a retard, and ironically there was drool visible. Being a dumb cunt, I flipped her off and sped on.

My adventure got better as I approached home. I was at a four way stop sign and it was busy with traffic. At the stop sign in front of me were two vehicles side by side, and apparently the driver’s are friends. They had their windows down, and were chatting away. Traffic to my right and left kept moving through the intersection, for there wasn’t an obstacle in their way. I honked my horn at the morons, and the response almost made me get out of my car and open a can of road rage. One of the vehicles was a truck, that had a volunteer firefighter light on the roof. You know, one of those lights cops have, but on a junior level. The asshole put on his firefighter light, and continued to sit there chatting. By now, horns are blaring from 5 or 6 cars behind me. After three minutes, they wrapped up the conversation and were on their way.

I understand that people don’t really care about others anymore. Aren’t these great examples of idiots who are endangering people and creating hazards on the roads? This all happened in one day, and happens all the time on the roads in Philadelphia. The moral of the story is to please be respectful of your fellow drivers, and the safety of your own children in your car. Not just for safety reasons, but for the fact that one of these days I am going to snap and just ram my car into your car!

and that’s why I keep a metal baseball bat in my ride…

I’ve never wailed on someone; but I’ve come close. I live in a rural part of our metro area. You know, nice big blocks; lots of horses etc. Not redneck land but some of the countryboy’s get airs and graces…

I overtook one on the back roads and inadvertently kicked up some gravel on his precious ‘grill’ (there had been some recent roadworks). His pride offended he chased me down the highway; tried to run me off the road in his ute. I braked quickly and let him get ahead of me. When we pulled up at the lights I hung back in the left lane behind him. He got out to give me some verbal. For all I know he was going to take it to the next level.

So what do I do? I flashed the metal out the window and started accelerating towards him. He turned tail and was through that red light before you could say “play ball!”

ADVICE: because I’ve been pulled up on it before by a cop: there’s also a glove and a ball under the seat. I’m Oz’s biggest baseball head for real, a Boston Yankee’s fanatic hahahaha

Yeah I know what you mean. Me and my mom try not to get run over in parking lots.

My solution: get a mega phone.
its so much more impressive and asshole drivers get the picture better when you scream at the through a mega phone, rather then flick them off. You actually don’t have to even scream, they come with little alarms:)
and trust me, Miami has THE worst drivers in the US. Mainly because most of them aren’t even from here! Lol

For what it is worth, the people in Cleveland are just as bad if not worse! I could give you pages and pages of examples, perhaps some time I will send you some :).

    Puerto Rican drivers, eh?

I think that you have to haved lived in Puerto Rico to truly appreciate Puerto Rican drivers. Whenever I see someone driving bizarrely who might even look even remotely Puerto Rican I I look for the familiar patterns that are so common in San Juan.

The shoulder is another lane. Whereever there happens to be a space between 2 cars is another lane. At intersections you line up next to each other to turn and then watch for who turns first as if you were pedestrians. If the traffic light is broken everyone inches into the intersection within a hair of each other and then “goes” when he can. I could go on.

I moved back to the States in 2001 and found that EVERYONE was giving me the finger as I drove. The scary part is that I did not understand why. Four years of driving on the Island made me an aggressive driver. It took a while to break me of that.

Yes I am always recognizing who just moved to the States!

Such people are stupid and they show their stupidity in this way. I am wondering why cops start a campaign to get rid of such bastards.

Oh my God! It absolutely drives me out of my mind when I see two people chit chatting in two separate cars with the windows down! It’s one of the few times you’ll catch me actually yelling at people from my car.
