Myspace deleted my profile and all 2200 friends, I’m furious!

Do you realize how pissed off I was when I returned home from work, to discover my profile on Myspace was deleted? I use my profile to stay in contact with friends and readers that I’ve made through the blog. Over 2200 friends were gone, with no way to reach them again. I sent a email to Myspace customer support, which resulted in a dead end. I received a generated response telling me how to reset my password, with no attempt to actually answer my questions about the problem. I’ve had friends who were locked out of Myspace, and the response was a painful process of taking a picture of yourself holding a sign with your account ID number on it. Myspace customer service is difficult, and I imagine Tom and two friends drinking beer and randomly answering emails.

So why was my profile deleted? Since no real response was provided from Myspace, I can only speculate that I was a causality of the online war against spam. Friends and readers often send me comments and messages, and I try to respond to most with a response through comments. I always include my blog button, and a link to jscreeb.com. Obviously, Myspace has software that detects this, and registers comments as spam when found on various profiles. Had I known this was the case, I wouldn’t have included my “signature” on my comments. As we all know, there are tons of spammers on Myspace who send out random friend requests and comments with advertisements. Myspace should send out an email as a warning, or at least to confirm that it’s a real person before deleting an account. I received no notice, or any kind of explanation… my profile was just gone. The profile is up again, and from now on I will be more careful with my comments. If you were linked up before, or would like to friend me on Myspace please send a request. I will gladly accept, but don’t be upset if I don’t comment you back as freely as before!

Wow that sucks. I’m sorry. Myspace is getting worse in my opinion. The more popular it gets, the worse it gets. So many spammers, so many bugs.

Most of you know me as “Dreamwriter.” I recently
Launched a new blog called, “Bipolar Speaks.” One day something came over me as I was reading websites called “Post Secret” and also a blog who had a post where they had quotes from other Bloggers with mental illness about how they felt.

It occurred to me that WE need an escape to let out our feelings and frustrations. I know that a lot of bloggers say what they feel within their own blogs, but you are welcome to share your thoughts, opinions, and feelings.

You are welcome to help raise awareness and put a stop to the Stigma that lies within mental illness. We can change the world - one story at a time.

I thought it would be interesting
To design a “Safe Haven” for those who battle with a Mental Illness; and allow them to come and let out their most darkest, painful, and emotional feelings. This would be a great way to spread awareness by letting society know what is REAL about mental illness.

If you are interested, you can submit a story or short piece as an “Anonymous” contributor, or if you don‘t care about what others think, then feel free to reveal your blogger identity; its purely up to you.. I tried this several times and the “Anonymous” button works and ends up in my email as an “Anonymous” comment.

The rules and regulations are in the blog within a post. Take the time to read them thoroughly and I hope that you become a constant contributor.

Remember, we all have things on our chest to let out and we all truly don’t want others to know. But now is an opportunity for YOU to speak up, speak out, and be heard!

I know that I have a lot of feelings and issues that I don’t want my husband, friends, or family to know about…this is my chance to get it off my chest and I WILL be a constant contributor.

Depending on the issue, I might submit the story under both “anonymous” and my name.
Go to “Bipolar Speaks” and look around, don’t forget to display the Bipolar Speaks button on your blog and link it back to us.

By the way, I still have my other blog, so don’t forget about me over there, too. :)

I am sorry that happened too. I find I spend most of my time lately on Facebook and only go to MySpace to catch up with friends who are only there and not on Facebook. A pic of yourself holding a sign with your ID number. That does sound really convoluted. Actually maybe Tom and his friend are back there smoking weed and answering emails. ;-)

MySpace is getting bad. That’s a real bummer what they did to you. Hang in there! :>D
